Just went to replace the Jabsco and learned that you MUST use the compact one, not the regular size.  It does not have enough clearance in the back.

Also, hose removal is a ****.

I also have found my fuel gauge inaccurate.  It does seem to work but not accurately.  It recently read 3/4s full but when I filled it at the fuel dock, it took about 10 gallons or half a tank.  I think the best approach is to log hours of engine time.  My tank should give me 40 hours (1/2 gallon per hour) so I will fill up after about 30 hours.

Hello Skippers,
This is my first request here. I own hull #17. I have a wheel mounted autopilot ring that makes seeing the instruments nearly impossible, especially the tach and temp. Has anyone found a way to overcome this? I am thinking of mounting the instruments elsewhere.

It’s not difficult to lower the instrument pod a little. It just bolts to the pedestal and the tube that carries the wiring can be shortened. But probably no more than an inch or two
I’ve always found it a bit of a struggle to see them though!
Having done away with a wheel pilot though in favour of a below deck pilot that helped a lot

When I had to lower, about 1 inch,  my lower instrument pod because of interference with a new wheel pilot I found that I did not need to shorten the wire pipe as it just slid further into the pod as the pod came down.

Yikes. I've never seen this done on any 320. You might consider
replacing your autopilot with a below decks model, as many of us have
done. That's not a cheap fix, but it might be cheaper than
re-engineering the control panel. And you would end up with a much
better autopilot too.

I agree with Graeme. I shifted mine down an inch or so without much problem when I installed my wheel pilot.

Relocating instruments, on the other hand, is a large job. How large depends on where you move them to. There are many wires and cables involved.

Essentially, the gage is a voltmeter, and the sending unit is a rheostat. As the arm swing the resistance runs between 35 ohms when full and 240 ohms empty. You can read that with a multimeter from the pink wire on the gage to ground.

If always 'full' it means the sender in likely shorted to ground. Make sure the connector on either end are not touching anything but their respective terminals.

Mine was shorted and always ready "Full". I replaced it with Seachioce Fuel Sender  model 15461

a 'board' is one of the subforms, like this one (called How to use this forum board"). At the bottom right you will see a button named "notify"  Click on that and every time a new post is put on the board you will get a notification by email
